Design a Dream Events was founded and created by a woman who had an event planning personality starting at a very young age.  Jana, the owner of Design A Dream Events, was given the nickname "D.O." at the age of two.  What does "D.O." stand for you ask?! Detail Oriented! Growing up, Jana was always the one planning surprise parties for her friends + family, or taking over the details for the next great adventure they had planned.  She loved everything that went into the designing and coordinating aspect, as well as the contagious excitement it gave the people she loved.  Even though Jana wasn't aware that one day she would be the owner of a wedding + event planning company, the universe knew! That nickname would be the beginning to a great journey that is now called Design A Dream Events!

Planning your wedding or event should be enjoyable and memorable.  To be successful in this industry, you must to have a passion for the business​, organizational skills, detail-oriented and can multitask.  I guarantee; We are that!  Our goal is to set ourselves apart from other coordinators and never allow events to be alike.  This is your special dream, designed especially for you.  Our team thrives under pressure, and we are flexible with any situation or surprise that may occur.

Meet Jana Ingraham, the founder and owner of Design A Dream Events.  She has a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in Marketing from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Jana has always had a deep passion for designing and planning.  After going back and forth with trying to decide what she wanted to do as her long-term career, Jana had the opportunity to assist with a handful of weddings and events starting in 2008. Immediately, she knew she was born to be an Event Planner! Jana threw herself into the business, soaked up as much as she could about the industry, and dove head first into every possible class, workshop, and seminar.  Ultimately, this lead to the launch of Design A Dream Events in 2012 continuing to coordinate numerous weddings and events ...And we must say, the rest is history!  In her leisure time you can find her in the gym, loving on her family, or soaking up the sun by the water!

Meet Pam! She is originally from Acapulco, Mexico where she received a bachelor's degree in Communication Studies, and started out as an assistant event coordinator in the wedding industry. This is where she fell in love with every aspect of this profession!  She has been part of the Design a Dream team for 5 years now! Throughout those years, she has assisted with the planning and coordination of over 150 weddings. She is a hard worker who focuses on every detail. Pam will go the extra mile to make sure that every event runs smoothly, and that every couple and their family has the best day ever! When she's not working on weddings + events, Pam loves spending time with family, traveling, cooking and walking on the beach!

Laiken McManigal

Associate Lead Event Planner

(Jacksonville/Morehead City/New Bern District)

Meet Laiken! She's a Michigan native who moved south to chase warmer weather and sunshine! Laiken joined the Design A Dream team at the beginning of 2019, and has been letting her passion for creativity and attention to detail flourish ever since! With an extensive background in the service industry, she strives to go the extra mile to ensure everyone throughout your day has nothing but the best experience possible. Her expertise in the event industry is your crutch and her secret weapon throughout your planning process. In her spare time you can find her working out, exploring the nearest beach town, and drinking copious amounts of coffee!

Meet Tiffany!  Our jack of all trades! She is a  graduate from UNCW with a major in Business Management and Leadership as well as a major in Recreation with a concentration in Hospitality, Tourism, and Event Planning Management.  Tiffany's interest in wedding planning began at a young age drawing wedding dress designs and creating extravagant weddings on paper.  She is now pursuing that dream here at Design A Dream Events!  In her spare time she is a dance teacher, enjoys art, and runs her new photography business!

Victoria Lennon

Assistant Event Coordinator

Meet Victoria! She is a native of Upstate New York, who moved down south with her Marine husband and loving puppy. She graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology with a Bachelors in International Hospitality and Service Management with a concentration in Event Management, and a minor in Communications. She loves events of all kinds and believes that the magic is in the details. When not working on her latest project, you can find her out hiking and biking with her husband or finding the newest spots to grab a bite.

Kayla Huntzberry

Assistant Event Coordinator

Meet Kayla!  She is from Maryland, and recently moved to North Carolina with her boyfriend and cat. She went to school at Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia and received a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance. She has always loved everything about weddings! With her experience of being an accountant, she can focus on the small details that make weddings and events unique and special.  In her spare time she loves going to the beach, baking, and exploring the area more.

Tressa Amico

Assistant Event Coordinator

Meet Tressa!  Our girl who always brings the glow! Tressa graduated from Cape Fear Community College with an Associates in Arts.  She believes her passion for wedding planning stems from her detail oriented personality, and attention to detail. She  loves everything about weddings, and hopes to pursue her long term career in the industry. Tressa has a wonderful 

talent in calligraphy, and a passion for painting and drawing. When she's not working, you can find her on the beach with her and enjoying her free time with her friends.

Myan Le

Assistant Event Coordinator

Meet Myan! She is a graduate from UNCG with a major in Consumer, Apparel, and Retail Studies accompanied by a concentration in Global Apparel and Related Industries. Her passion for wedding planning derives from her love of designing, crafting, and detail-oriented personality. To strengthen her understanding within the wedding industry, she is currently studying to get certified as a Wedding and Event Planner. In her spare time, Myan enjoys gaming, painting, and hanging out with friends.

Samantha Richmond

Assistant Event Coordinator

Meet Samantha! She is from Charlotte, North Carolina and just graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with a Bachelors in Media and Journalism. Samantha has always been known among her friends as the planner. Whether it be a surprise party, a trip, or simply a hangout, Samantha aspires to go above and beyond expectations. Nothing gets her more excited than planning out all of the details of an event, and watching the joy it brings to a group of people. In her spare time, Samantha loves dancing, going to the beach, and watching New Girl on repeat.

Design a Dream Events has an internship program for anyone who shares the same passion and philosophy as we do!  Each internship lasts a minimum of 3 months.  If you are interested in an internship, feel free to email us with a copy of your resume.  We would love to have you on board.
