The Brock/Washington wedding took place at the beautiful Events at Watermark Marina in Wilmington, North Carolina on April 8, 2016. The day couldn't have been more perfect. There was a bit of an overcast, while the sun's rays peaked through the clouds at just the right times! Adrian and Gretchen's wedding was special and unique in its own beautiful way. They wanted a quaint and close knit wedding, while still giving a personalized, classy, and whimsical feel for their guests. As a team, we accomplished just that!
Their ceremony took place on the marina's dock that extended out onto the Cape Fear River. Their adorable dog, Bronx, was a part of their day, and he did such a wonderful job. (We love it when couples can incorporate their pets!) Every guest, bridesmaid, and groomsmen were dressed in white, while the stunning bride was dressed in a gorgeous lavender dress that flowed in the wind. The choice of attire for this wedding made it one of the most unique weddings that we have been a part of. There is something breathtaking about seeing every guest in a shade of white.
Cocktail hour immediately followed the ceremony poolside, with an open bar and passed hors d'oeuvres while the sun set right behind the river. What a sight to see, and all the guests had front row seats in watching the beautiful colors take over the sky.
The reception was filled with greenery, crystal, gold, pearls, vintage heirlooms, and hues of purple. The mix of vintage valuables and sleek modern pieces blended perfectly together in order to pull off Gretchen + Adrian's vision. The bride surprised her groom with his very own groom's cake AND surprised everyone with a 2nd dress that was a gorgeous pearl white, filled with details from top to bottom! The reception was full of amazing food, great music, and lots of dancing. Watching Adrian and Gretchen mingle and having a good time with their guests told us that our job was a success... And that's all we ever want for our couples!
